NOW Saw Palmetto may be used by men for prostate health. There have been many clinical studies citing Saw Palmetto’s benefit for prostate health and urinary function. Changes may occur in prostate health from middle age and are usually related to the hormone DHT, or dihydrotestosterone, a metabolite of testosterone. DHT levels rise, and these bind to prostate cells, accelerating growth of prostate tissue. The active constituents in Saw Palmetto help block the binding of DHT to prostate cells. The inclusion of zinc and pumpkin seed oil provides synergistic support for the prostate.
